Volume loss occurs in many areas of the face as we age, including the cheeks, temples, marionettes and pre jowl areas, along with lips and around the mouth.
What causes volume loss?
As we age cell renewal slows down which causes a decrease in muscle mass, a reduction in the size of fat pads as well as increase bone resorption. Volume loss is affected by genetics, medical conditions and many lifestyle factors such as diet, exercise and smoking.
With volume loss there are also shifts in volume as the ligament within our face weaken and our skin loses its strength. These changes can lead to hollowing of areas including the corners of the mouth, deepening of lines such as the Nasolabial folds and create sag causing common concerns like jowls and hooded eyelids.
Volume replacement:
We are able to treat these concerns by subtly replacing volume to particular areas to improve signs of volume loss as well as definition and support. By expertly adding volume to the face, we are able to restore a natural, youthful appearance.
What to expect during an appointment:
Following an in-depth consultation, consenting and scripting we will take some baseline photographs to be kept on file for future reference. Areas such as the lip or perioral region are then numbed for 10 minutes to ensure you are comfortable throughout the procedure. Other areas are far less sensitive and therefore do not require numbing. A treatment is then performed following the most up to date practice.
Following the treatment you may experience:
-Redness
-Swelling
-Bruising
-Itchiness
After the treatment you will be provided aftercare both verbally and via email.
Results take up to 4 weeks for full effect, you will have a follow up appointment at this time to review results.
Due to the TGA guidelines we are unable to provide pricing for medication online, this will be discussed during your complimentary, obligation free consultation.
