What is body sculpting?
Body sculpting is a treatment offered at The Louve where we are able to reduce muscle contraction within targeted muscles which cause them to initially flatten and then also atrophying over time to create changes to body and face shape.
What areas can be treated?
A body sculpting treatment can be done for jaw slimming by treating the masseter muscles. These muscles, which are at the back of the jaw can become enlarged due to clenching and grinding. When these muscles become enlarged the lower face becomes wider.
Treating the jaw also aides in reducing the symptoms of “Bruxism”. A condition characterised by excessive clenching and grinding of the teeth which can cause TMJ pain, headaches and tooth damage.
Another area that can be sculpted is the section of the trapezius muscle that sits above the should. This muscle is extremely active, playing a role in posture as well as head and neck movements. This can also be a muscle that is overactive in many people, including those that have desk jobs, those with poor posture or those that hold tension through the neck and shoulders when stressed.
